Inspired By

Manon!  On Saturday night we were given tickets to Manon performed by the Metropolitan Opera at the Lincoln centre. It is the first time that we have been in the main building at the Lincoln centre and we were both excited to have a real New York Met experience.  The Lincoln centre is incredible with its soaring balconies, red velvet interior and gold leaf ceiling - truly a magical space.  All aspects of the performance was incredible - the talented singers, art direction and of course the set design. There were five Acts and each one had a set more incredible than the next.  Designed by French set designer Chantal Thomas, we were literally transported to another time. Each set was creative, modern and had little pops of colour - whether through props, projections or the cast's ensembles. I really enjoyed this experience and hope to attend more performances like this in the future.  Have you seen a Met production or been to the Lincoln centre? What stood out about the experience for you?

  1. Those sets are pretty amazing, I'm pretty sure that's my favourite part about going to see plays

  2. Love how you take the sets and pull out the colour combinations for inspiration. Great, great idea...and an excellent source of new colour combos!

    1. Thanks so much. The sets were just incredible and so imaginative that it was hard to not be inspired! I agree that the palettes are unusual but the colour combinations work so well together and its nice to find something new every once in a while.
