I was reading Desire to Inspire a couple of weeks ago and came across Australian architectural firm Russell and George and just had to share. Their work is simple, clean and modern with a great sense of materiality. They tend to use a very simple palette of materials in each project, however have a way of accentuating and highlighting those materials so that they really become a key design detail in the project. It's their commercial and residential work that really sticks out for me as being innovative and relatable. In their commercial work they have a great way of making the product a design feature - the goal of any design team - and in their residential work, whether it be a white box (above) or a timber clad bungalow, the detail and architecture really speaks without having to yell.
